Artist. Educator. Specialist.

I'm Sophie, the artist behind Sophie Louise Artistry.

I'm a professional Hair & Makeup Artist based in the Lake District, with over six years' experience working across bridal, fashion, commercial, live events and creative production.

Alongside my freelance work, I lecture in Specialist and Media Makeup Techniques and will soon be entering my fifth year of teaching.

I love the balance between technical precision and creative expression that makeup offers.

Whether I'm working with a bride, preparing a model for camera, creating a commercial look or
teaching the next generation of artists, I'm always interested in what makes a face individual.

My approach is never about covering someone up. It's about understanding what is already there and knowing how to enhance it.

Teaching has given me an exceptionally detailed understanding of facial structure, colour,
texture, balance and professional application, as well as how to efficiently communicate.

For a bridal client, that means you don't need to know the technical terminology or arrive with a
perfectly formed idea. I can listen to what you're trying to achieve, explain the options and guide you towards a result that feels right for you.
